thank you Alicia!! and yes—I feel like reading about how moving Rothko’s paintings are (as an example) and then zooming in on a jpeg online doesn’t really capture the emotional and phenomenological experience of viewing his work…it’s so different and really special to encounter many of these works in person
(also—so different to experience the SCALE of a painting that’s taller than you!)
