Agreed on Doppelganger--the first thing I've read by Klein. I was impressed at how much mileage she got out of the central conceit and struck by the clarity, rigor and depth of her thought.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about all of this interesting stuff! I've been enjoying your newsletter.
We have some overlap in our reading: I have been reading *Filterworld* too, which I picked up at one of Kyle Chakya's recent book events.
On Buddhism: I am very interested in some Buddhist thinkers who draw on existential phenomenologists such as Merleau-Ponty to explain their view of contemplative practice, so I hope to get to *Phenomenology of Perception* eventually. Thank you for this very generous comment! The synthesis of Buddhism and Merleau-Ponty is very, very interesting to me—we were actually discussing this in one of Zoe's classes a few weeks ago.
It does seem as if the close, patient attention that Buddhism encourages is similar to the grounded, meditative practices that Buddhism encourages. And both are philosophies that believe in an intimate relationship between bodily awareness and mental serenity.
Just added both of your links to my reading list 🙇🏻♀️ I've really been enjoying writing this Substack and being able to connect with people reading similar things.
Immaculate taste! I’m gonna read these books too
Thank you! Also, love all the perfume writing you've done—a huge inspiration for me

Yes! I really revere Klein—she's such a precise and fundamentally rigorous political thinker, while still being very easy to read.
